Sorry, to take away you’re fun but safari and opera are not open source they are proprietary software, so should be added to the other proprietary software like IE, proprietary software still is well over 50% of browsers in use.

After all the time you've spent commenting, one would think you'd be familiar with the premise of this blog, which is that Microsoft's market share will be less than 50% on June 30, 2011.

Woah Darryl, one bet at a time!

Beth Lynn is only reporting open source's progress against one entity right now: Microsoft. She's never made any other claim here.

The competition is a good thing, whether or not it's free, open-source, or proprietary software. I don't want to see Microsoft fail as much as I want to see better software alternatives succeed. I personally think open source is the means, and I think software freedom has value beyond the four freedoms, but never beyond human freedom.

Total software freedom is an aspiration that we as individuals can work to attain. Giving Microsoft a run for its money is something we can all enjoy together!

"As far as browsers go, the “what will we use” question has been answered: Open source browsers such as Firefox and Chrome seem to be taking Microsoft’s market share. GandhiCon 4 here we come."

Not being accurate in reporting is a big thing on the internet, It appears to happen alot from the "open source" people, especially when they are trying to attack Microsoft.

but lets face some REAL facts next time when you make sweeping statements, and consider some people (like myself) might actually check you're statements, it should not be so easy to prove you're again not quite being totally honest..

How's that bet of you're going, willing to take me up on my offer ?? yet..
