GNOME is at least more customizable than OSX or Windows. And in the case of eiher KDE or GNOME: you can hack it! It doesn't give you them. And you can't even hack 'em in yourself! But umm...yeah I generally think the FSF is rather extremist. I do not hold an FSF membership, thanks. Look I use open source software but that doesn't mean closed source is bad, just name osx, its the most stable operating system I know. And other then that, what u guys are screaming all time doesn't make sense, that would mean in silly comparing with other markets that they need to open the secrets what makes there product the best. I can not image that happens in real markets, it only something in software, mabye thats not so strange but still, people should be able to make money and you can not make money with open source, only can provide support and earn money from that. And people even don't click on google ads that open source users put on there page, it should be your own choose as developer to make it close or open, and when it close there are restrictions, and when its open the developer doesn't earn big money.
